3:1-13
This week, we’re diving into Ephesians 3 to explore Paul’s example of stewardship in the Gospel. Last week, we learned that we are stones in God’s temple—this week, we see how we are also stewards, called to actively work for the Gospel.
Big Idea:
We are stewards of God’s grace, entrusted with His Gospel, and called to live in response to it.
Here’s how Paul shows us what it looks like to steward the Gospel:
1️⃣ "I am a Prisoner" (v.1)
Paul was literally imprisoned for the Gospel. But more than that, he was captivated by the message of Christ and fully committed to spreading it, wherever it took him.
2️⃣ "I Write" (v.3)
Paul wrote 14 letters, sharing the truth revealed to him by God. His writings became Scripture and continue to shape our faith today.
3️⃣ "I Minister" (v.7)
All believers are called to ministry. As part of the body of Christ, we serve both the church and the community to spread the Gospel and meet needs.
4️⃣ "I Preach" (v.8)
Preaching isn’t just for pastors. We are all called to proclaim the unsearchable riches of Christ—sharing the good news wherever we go.
5️⃣ "I Build the Church" (v.10)
The Church—God’s household—is the only eternal institution. We are all part of building it, empowered by the Spirit and grounded on the foundation of Scripture and Christ, the cornerstone.
Key Takeaways:
This is not a self-improvement plan or task list. Stewarding the Gospel flows from being controlled and compelled by Jesus, who gives us:
Boldness
Access
Confidence
Challenge:
Don’t lose heart! God is building His Church, and He invites you to join the work. Whether you preach, write, serve, or simply live in faith—Jesus is at work through you.
