Mitch has been pastoring on the Southside of Indianapolis for over a decade in various congregations. In 2021 Mitch and his wife Jaycee began to experience the call to plant Ascend. Mitch served as the Church Planting Resident at Redeemer Bible Church from the fall of 2022 to the fall of 2023, and is working towards finishing a Doctorate in Church Leadership from Grace Theological Seminary.

In his free time he enjoys spending time with Jaycee and his two boys Graham, and Griffin. His hobbies include trying new restaurants in town, reading, and following his favorite sports teams!

Before stepping on staff at Ascend, Jon served as the Director of Discipleship Groups  at Redeemer Bible Church for a little over a year and a half. Prior to that, Jon was in the mortgage industry for 4 years, working as a processing manager. During the "Core Team Phase" Jon and his wife, Betsey, discerned the call to join the launch team at Ascend. 

Summer has a heart for serving the community. She is the co-founder of Resources of Hope Inc, a local non profit that provides support to foster and kinship families. In 2022 she completed her Masters of Social Work at IUPUI. Her and her family have been apart of Ascend's core launch team since the beginning.

Summer enjoys spending time and going on adventures with her husband Eric and their 6 kids. Fun fact: She was a competitive unicyclist.

Dalton Cox is a born and raised Southsider! He is on staff full-time with Marlin Academy as a basketball Trainer, and oversees all media. Dalton is a graduate from Anderson University and served at another church here on the Southside as the Communications director for five years. Dalton and Pastor Mitch have been friends for years, and Dalton and his wife Morgan discerned the call to join our church family on Celebration Sunday!

Dalton enjoys playing video games, being with his people. Dalton and Morgan have a 1 year old daughter Marlee and a baby on the way due in December!
